Montana steals the Wyoming logo
The American stamp webpage ‘www.stamps.net’ announces that the State of Wyoming was not particularly pleased with the sheet dedicated to the 50 states.
It turns out that the image of a cowboy on a rearing horse is depicted on the Montana stamp. Now, this happens to be the ‘logo’ of the State of Wyoming. And what is more : Wyoming is holder of the copyrights of the image, which is known as the ‘Wyoming Bucking Horse&Rider’. This means that, according to the Wyoming State Government, USPS, which publishes the stamps, is in breach of the law.
‘Nonsense’, says Al DeSarro, USPS spokesman for the west of the USA. ‘It is really not the same symbol, it simply looks a little like it.’ The State of Wyoming, however, wants USPS to give them 7,5% of each stamp sold. Let’s see how it turns out eventually,,,
