This although the author of the book, Richard Sine, is known as a man who knows a lot of collecting stamps.
Sine admits that his book is full of mistakes. ‘But that is not my fault’, he says. ‘I have handed in everything in neatly.’
It appears that on the moment Sine handed in his manuscript, the publisher of the Dummies books was taken over by a larger company. Sine assumes that the takeover purchase caused the fact that the preparation of ‘Stamp Collecting for Dummies’ became such a mess.
The book is, among others, sold by a stamp store in Saskatoon (Canada). Each copy sold in this store contains a 6-page list, brought together by the dealer, of coreections, appropriately titled ‘Editing and Paste-up Procedures for Dummies’…
