A surprise, but a pleasant one?
We can't exactly say that the surprise issues from PTT Post is welcomed by everyone.
At the editorial office of the Dutch magazine Filatelie, they receive lots of telephone calls by collectors that are angry because they can’t buy the thirteen provincial sheets, dedicated to the Dutch province of Friesland, at their local post office. The sheet concerned can only be bought in Friesland and at the ‘CollectClub’ in Groningen. And the same goes for the other sheets : ‘Drenthe’ can only be bought in the province of Drenthe, ‘Noord-Holland’ exclusively in Noord-Holland, etc. One reader of Filatelie has sent us a copy of a letter to CollectClub in which he cancels his subscription. Talking about CollectClub : we may assume that the number of subscribers be around 200 000. What then if of each sheet, there are only between 100 000 and 120 000 copies are available ? Whether the stamps from the sheet are available seperately ? And does everyone then receive a stamp with a vignette or are there ‘bare‘ stamps as well ? As soon as it becomes more quiet at the ‘CollectClub’ – we received our Friesland sheets order very quickly in a neat folder – it will become clear whether or not we will be able to answer these questions. For the ones still faithful : on March 26, a surprise will be waiting for you… in Drenthe.
