Remarkable printing error on Russian stamp
The Russian correspondent of "Filatelie", mister L. Wladinetz (Moscow), reports on a remarkable printing error.
'A few months ago, a collector from Prokonjewsk (Siberia) bought a sheet of the 5000 rouble stamp from 1995 with the imprint 1.20 (rouble)', he writes. 'He was very amazed when it turned out that the imprint was put on upside down on the stamp. He then sold the sheet, after which it was divided and the stamps got different owners. One half of the sheet, however, remained intact. Several further attempts to obtain more sheets with this deviation proved to be futile, which made the reversed printing - the first on the Russian market in many years - one of the most expensive deviations in Russia.
